Our Policy

At Ulster Carpets we understand the impact of manufacturing on the local environment and recognise our social responsibility to the surrounding area, its people and resources. It is the company’s policy to provide a sustainable business for future generations.

As industry pioneers we continually review our processes to find more efficient and sustainable ways to manufacture luxury carpet. We are committed to continual improvement, satisfying our customer needs, compliance obligations and maximising the potential of the markets in which we operate.

To this end, we have developed an environmental policy which has been designed and supported by an Environmental Management System that details our commitment to improving environmental performance. This commitment is externally tested and proven through certification to the internationally recognised ISO 14001 environmental standard.

We continue to strive towards our goals of reducing the amount of CO₂ and waste that are generated by the manufacturing process, and have these as key performance indicators.

A major business sustainability project completed recently was the construction of a new Dye House and Energy Centre on our Castleisland site but we are not stopping there. We continue to rethink every aspect of our business to ensure that even a small change can make a big difference.
