Nick Coburn Elected President of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce

13th June 2016

We are pleased to announce the election of Ulster Carpets MD, Nick Coburn to the position of President of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce. Nick steps up to the role after spending a year in office as Vice President of the Chamber and brings a wealth of business experience with him. Mr Coburn joined Ulster Carpets in 1977 and was appointed Managing Director of the company in 2004. Speaking after his election on Friday 10th June, Mr Coburn said:

“It is an honour to be elected President of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry. I am delighted to have the opportunity to support business growth through NI Chamber. There are many companies in Northern Ireland who are world leaders in their field and I believe there is an opportunity for even more firms to prosper by exploring and developing new markets overseas as Ulster Carpets has done. I aim to share my experience in export markets with others and to provide inspiration to those considering international sales.

“NI Chamber is committed to engaging with Northern Ireland’s new Executive, particularly the Departments for the Economy, Finance and Infrastructure and by doing so, to help drive through measures to help businesses and the wider economy in Northern Ireland to grow.”

Nick also commented that he is looking forward to continue to champion the interests of Northern Ireland businesses on a local, national and European level. We wish him every success as he takes on this new role.
