The Grove, Hertfordshire

The five-star standards at The Grove have been matched by a five-star service from Ulster Carpets.

Our team designed and manufactured custom carpet for the latest upgrade of this luxuriously relaxing venue.  Set within 300 acres of rolling Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove has hosted a glittering array of big names over the years, including US President Donald Trump and other world leaders as part of the NATO Summit, the World Golf Championships, the British Masters and the England football team.

We worked with the award-winning Martin Hulbert Design who have created an exciting new look that combines modern style with the hotel’s rich history.

The glittering carpet design is offset by feature lighting and interiors that perfectly offset its gold and bronze hues to create an elegant vibrancy and a wow-factor perfectly in keeping with The Grove’s signature style.

The carpet at The Grove is the perfect example of how our designs can form an integral part of an overall aesthetic that coalesces all of the room’s elements into one unified vision.

For Ulster, however, it is not just a case of creating flooring works of art that are tailored to your needs. We also ensure that the essential factors of sustainability, serviceability and practicality are incorporated into every carpet.

This is then matched by the highest standards of service that ensures customers return to Ulster time and time again.

Rosewood Miramar Beach, California

With designs that resonate with the oceanfront haven of the exclusive Rosewood Miramar Beach, Ulster Carpets have created a range of custom flooring for this beautiful hotel that also features echoes of the past.

Set on the American Riviera along one of Southern California’s most beautiful and exclusive coastlines, Rosewood Miramar Beach offers a captivating estate-style atmosphere and was named one of world’s best new resorts in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2020 Hot List.

Working alongside award-winning interior designers, Richmond International, Ulster designed and manufactured a wide range of custom carpets and rugs that took inspiration from ‘The Miramar Hotel’, a Santa Barbara landmark that formerly occupied the site. Ulster’s combination of both woven and handtufted carpets and rugs perfectly complement each other on this project.

Consisting of a series of suites, bungalows and garden cottages, all set within a sprawling 16 acres Montecito estate of natural beauty, the challenge at Rosewood Miramar Beach was to create designs that matched the homely bespoke and eclectic style of the manor house with the serenity of a wonderful location overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

This modern reimagining of the Plantation-style history of the location is amplified by the carpet and rug designs throughout the hotel. The blue palette used in the wave design for the guest rooms and suites is the perfect example of how a classic style can neatly forge a link between the history of the area and its seafront location.

The colour adds strength in depth to the clean lines created by the crisp white interiors that are offset with hints of gold. That sense of serenity continues in the spa where a muted palette of greys and creams has been used in an interlaced decorative design that showcases Ulster’s ability to create 3D flooring works of art.

This is only possible thanks to the state-of-the-art weaving process that is unique to Ulster and the company’s focus on creating exclusive designs that match the specific needs of the project. It was this ability to work closely with the owners and the design team that ensured a stunning end result for this beautiful project and is another example why Ulster have worked on so many prestigious projects within the hospitality, casino and marines sectors across the world.

Hotel Crescent Court Dallas

Ulster Carpets has provided a range of luxurious custom carpets for the Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas’ Uptown District. The impressive $33 million refurbishment focused on all areas of the hotel. The custom artwork and carpet Ulster created for the hotel reinforces the overall interior design, which combines European luxury and sophistication with Texan charm.

Ulster Carpets initially collaborated with leading interior designers Waldrop Nichols to craft new carpet for the Guestrooms as part of this extensive refurbishment project.

This was followed by a later phase, in which Ulster worked in collaboration with the award-winning interior design and architecture firm Murphy Cramer Design , to create distinctive designs for the Ballroom, Pre-function space, Boardroom and Meeting rooms.

The custom carpets have been created to complement the hotel’s French Renaissance-style. They provide a chic, cosmopolitan design aesthetic that reinforces the Hotel Crescent Court’s timeless elegance throughout the seventeen thousand square feet of function space.

In the Crescent Ballroom and Pre-function area, a bold carpet pattern takes centre stage. The same colour palette is utilised in the Boardroom, where the design is complementary yet distinctively different.

Large scale, overlaid brushstrokes create the three-dimensional effects that Ulster Carpets is renowned for; while providing strong design continuity throughout the hotel.

The Art of Ulster has combined our ability to bring Art, Craft and Technology together to create patterns of incredible depth and texture for The Hotel Crescent Court.

Seven Seas Splendor Ulster Carpets

Regent Seven Seas Splendor

Perfection is in the details and for Seven Seas Splendor – the latest addition to the Regent Seven Seas Cruises® fleet – that includes luxury bespoke flooring from Ulster Carpets.

Seven Seas Splendor, the ship that perfects luxury, offers her 750 guests the most luxurious accommodations as she sails to the world’s iconic destinations and less-familiar hidden gems.

Ulster Carpets again teamed up with boutique cruise ship and hospitality design firm, Studio Dado, to design and manufacture bespoke carpet for select public and private areas of this all-suite, all-balcony ship. Our team also collaborated with leading design company, Tillberg Design, to create custom rugs.

The opulence enjoyed by guests is matched by the custom carpets from Ulster throughout Seven Seas Splendor. From the rich golds and blues in the corridors and delicate neutral tones of the Grand Suite to the eye-catching aesthetics of the atrium and the Constellation Theatre, the depth and texture of our carpets enhances the luxurious setting of Seven Seas Splendor.

A recurring colour palette has been imaginatively recreated to harmonise each area while still maintaining a distinctive aesthetic in each one. The carpet accentuates the luxury that defines the Regent Seven Seas Cruises® fleet and the continual play of patterns and shapes in the design creates a solid narrative of grace and elegance.

Having already completed work on Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Navigator, our work on Seven Seas Splendor continues a strong relationship with Regent Seven Seas Cruises®, not to mention the continuing partnership approach enjoyed with Studio Dado and Tillberg Design.

Building these relationships has been key to the success of Ulster Carpets for over 80 years. It is an attribute that is enhanced by the experience and knowledge of our sales team and matched by the imagination and skills of our designers, allowing Ulster to meet the exacting high standards of the marine sector.

Fairmont Royal York, Toronto

The iconic Fairmont Royal York marked its 90th anniversary with an extensive multi-million dollar renovation that included bespoke luxury carpets from Ulster. Working with award-winning New York interior design firm, Champalimaud Design, Ulster designed and crafted carpet for the exclusive Fairmont Gold guest experience within the hotel.

Described as a true boutique experience with essential downtown grandeur, the Fairmont Gold experience includes highly personalised guest services on the renovated spaces on the thirteenth through the eighteenth guest room floors. This also included the Fairmont Gold Reception Area and Lounge on the eighteenth floor that features breathtakingly beautiful views of downtown Toronto and the adjacent lakefront.

Ulster collaborated with Champalimaud Design to create carpet designs and patterns that bring sophisticated elegance to compliment the exclusivity of the Fairmont Gold guest experience. The symmetrical design in the elevator lobby is influenced by the hotel’s Art Deco heritage. In the guest rooms, the carpet pattern is detailed to provide subtle colouring and texture to allow the other interior design features of the room to become the focal points of the design.

“The Art of Ulster” allows us to design and craft distinctive carpets that can either take centre-stage or provide a complimentary back drop to the interior design. This expertise enables Ulster to create and continue strong working relationships with Interior Designers and Owner/Developers.

These design capabilities are further enhanced by the durability created by the Axminster weaving process and the inherent qualities of wool. Our carpets are specifically tailored to meet the unique demands of hospitality, gaming and marine projects. Ulster’s dedicated Sales Associates and talented Designers throughout the USA are always ready to meet the requirements of our customers in North America.

The St. Regis Rome

Ulster Carpets have joined some of the world’s leading designers in revitalising the history and beauty of The St. Regis Rome for luxury travelers and international luminaries.

Celebrated interior designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon, led the three-year renovation of a venue that was established by legendary hotelier César Ritz in 1894 and is now operated by St. Regis, Hotels & Resorts, Marriott luxury brand.

The historical beauty of the main lobby, the Ritz Ballroom and the handcrafted stucco-adorned staircase is now wonderfully contrasted by the influences of contemporary and awarded designers, including the Bottega Veneta suite, an iconic Fiat 600 Multipla from 1962, designed by Garage Italia exclusively for the hotel and bespoke tailored uniforms by the Italian couturier Giada Curti.

From the glittering Murano chandeliers and the majestic Ritz Ballroom, it is clear that no detail was overlooked during the refurbishment. The bespoke carpets – designed and manufactured by Ulster – feature in the guest rooms, suites, corridors and lounge.

All 23 suites and 138 guestrooms are cleverly designed to combine high-end detailing with traditional artistry – both key features of Ulster’s carpets.

With an elegance that reflects the hotel’s enduring sophistication, each room’s distinctive architectural features are offset by luxurious styling such as Rubelli fabrics, signature amenities, contemporary art pieces and, of course, bespoke, luxury carpet from Ulster.

Carpet designs in either powder blue or warm terracotta complement the allure of the high-ceilinged and light-filled rooms that have redefined the splendour of this historical landmark in the Eternal City.

The St Regis Rome is just one of a wide range of luxury hotels to utilise the unique skills of Ulster. With an eye for detail and an understanding that no two projects are the same, the experienced sales team at Ulster Carpets provides a tailored service to meet the exacting requirements of interior design firms, architectural studios, managers and owners.

Geometric Carpet designed by Ulster at The Sheraton Kansas City Hotel

Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center

The interior design for the renovation of The Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center utilizes a bespoke Ulster carpet of multilayered geometric design and colorization.

Located in the Crown Center complex in Kansas City, Missouri, this hotel, owned by Hallmark Cards, offers Marriott Bonvoy guests luxury accommodations in the heart of the city’s downtown area.

In collaboration with boutique interior design firm, SA Dezign Studio Inc., the custom carpet designed and manufactured by Ulster for the Sheraton Grand Ballroom and Pre-Function areas epitomizes the high levels of detail that have become our hallmark.

The Axminster carpet for the Sheraton Grand Ballroom, a premier event venue, consists of interlocking and overlapping layers of blue hues and geometric gold patterns. These intricate and three-dimensional elements provide visual impact within the room, where linear patterns are balanced against underlying textures.

The design extends into the Pre-Function areas, where the use of a similar color palette provides a sense of continuity. In these areas, the blending of rectilinear ‘stepping stone’ design elements over the interlocking patterns create visual interest as hotel guests travel through the space.

The three-dimensional effect of these designs is one of the key attributes of an Ulster carpet. Using the latest technology and a patented weaving system, our designers have the capability to incorporate incredible color, depth and texture into every design.

Ulster has combined this design and manufacturing excellence with the highest levels of customer service. Our sales, design and planning teams at Ulster provide expert advice and guidance to meet our customers’ specific requirements for design and durability.

The quality of our bespoke carpets is matched by the strong relationships that have been established with Hospitality Interior Designers and Owner/Developers throughout the world.

The Westin New Orleans Canal Place

The interior design of The Westin New Orleans Canal Place – a Marriott Bonvoy hotel – uses patterns, colours, textures and forms to create a visually pleasing and comfortable environment for Westin hotel guests to experience.

Moncur Design Associates, Inc. in Toronto, Canada designed the interiors as part of a $30 million renovation for The Berger Company.

The design references the hotel’s location by the majestic Mississippi River and embodies the charm of the city of New Orleans and its vitality, history, culture, architecture and natural beauty.

Ulster worked closely with Moncur Design Associates, Inc. from a detailed design brief to design and manufacture carpet that realized their design vision. We provided carpet for the lobby, lobby bar, ballroom, prefunction areas, meeting rooms and guestroom corridors.

Our designers utilized a common color bank to create custom carpets that, much like the Mississippi River, provide continuity and natural flow throughout the hotel. The darker tones and fretwork design in the lobby spaces transition to lighter shades and flowing patterns in the meeting spaces. Both areas are distinctive in their own right, yet the overall color palette, detailing and addition of accent colors enhance the hotel’s signature style.

Ulster take pride in the long-term relationships we have built up over many years. The Westin New Orleans Canal Place represents the latest successful project between Ulster, Moncur Design Associates, Inc. and The Berger Company.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London

Ulster has stepped back in time to recreate iconic designs for London’s BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – popularly known as the ‘Neasden Temple’.

The various carpets designed and manufactured by Ulster around 25 years ago became famous following a visit by Princess Diana to the Temple and they have clearly stood the test of time at what is the largest Hindu Temple outside of India and one of Europe’s biggest Hindu temples.

The traditional craftsmanship, evident in Temple’s intricate carvings and examples of Haveli architecture, has been matched by striking carpet designs throughout the Temple, including in the corridors and main halls.

Replicating the complexity of the original carpet, the new designs feature highly intricate symmetrical patterns imbued with vivid colour. Vibrant and diverse, the meticulous designs feature richly decorated graphical elements that are inspired by Hindu art.

This careful curation of shape and colour highlights the high levels of detail that Ulster’s designers can create and how we are able to match the specific requirements set by clients. With up to 25 colours per design and almost unlimited possibilities on offer, Ulster’s carpets are manufactured to unprecedented depth and texture using our patented weaving technology, PSYLO™.

Our work at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is also a perfect example of how customers continue to return to Ulster project after project and highlights the strength of relationships with interior design firms, architectural studios, managers and owners across the world.
