DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - Docklands Riverside

The Story

Ulster Carpets worked closely with ICA London to produce a complementary array of bespoke designs for the public areas, corridors and guestrooms of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel – Docklands Riverside.

As the hotel is located at London’s last dry dock and close to the historical Port of London, the design was clearly inspired by London’s trade routes with a strong focus on a navigational theme. Using Ulster’s innovative PSYLO™ technology, our London based designers were able to create delicate layers of colour, texture and pattern to achieve this.

The detailed design intricacy allows the rooms to be linked by colour and pattern and to flow from one space to the next, truly capturing the essence of water. From the reception where an abstract map projection merges with a nautical compass, the striking watermarked effect continues throughout the hotel intensifying in the wharf link corridors, almost emulating the tidal surge of water as you emerge into the public areas. Hints of green and blue throughout the project, layers of sandy beiges and occasional pops of vibrant pink bring these designs to life.
