Druids Glen

The Story

Set in magical county Wicklow woodland, Druids Glen is one of Ireland’s most luxurious destinations. It is not surprising then that preceding a recent refurbishment, the 5 star hotel and golf resort called upon Ulster Carpets to design bespoke woven axminster for five different areas.

Ulster designers worked closely with CLR Design to achieve a design which would match the natural ethos of the refurbishment, inspired by the mature woodland setting of Druids Glen.

The guestrooms, suites and corridors feature a relaxing palette of purples, greens and neutral tones with a woodland design reflected by the scenery right outside the window. Background textures add an earthy depth and sophistication to the design.

The organic shapes and natural theme continue into the bar area with stronger reds, greens and golds being added to the colour palette to reflect the vibrancy of a social area. The swirl design mimics the hotel logo which takes it inspiration from the mythical Celtic druids of the hotel’s namesake. A contrasting bold stripe outlines the bar rug and gives definition to the space.
