The Story

Located in the historic former Tower Bridge Magistrates Court, The Dixon is named after the building’s original Edwardian architect, John Dixon Butler. This stylish new London hotel, part of The Autograph Collection by Marriott, combines eclectic design with the Grade II listed building’s original features, offering guests an ambience inspired by its historic locality.

Ulster Carpets worked closely with twenty2degrees Design Partnership to design and manufacture beautiful bespoke carpets for many areas of the hotel. The striking geometric pattern of the main staircase is set on a backdrop of soft blues and neutrals, a design inspired by water flowing from top to bottom which certainly creates a lasting impression on visitors. These eye-catching, specially made carpets stream through the corridors and public areas of the hotel, creating a beautiful harmony between the original historic features and new modern furnishings.

Ulster Carpets has long been established in London, producing striking axminster carpets for many prestigious establishments such as The Ritz and The Savoy. After a recent relocation of its London based team, it is now proud to be situated in the bustling design district of Clerkenwell; the capital’s vibrant, creative heart.
