Decorex 2026: Celebrating Colour, Craftsmanship and Timeless Design
Earlier this month, the Ulster Carpets team visited Decorex 2026 at Olympia London, exploring the latest interior design trends, inspiring colour palettes and the importance of quality craftsmanship.
One of the standout themes was the continued popularity of warm, earthy tones, with deep burgundies, burnt oranges, terracotta and rich browns featuring throughout the exhibition. These colours were complemented by natural textures, tactile materials and decorative finished creating interiors that feel both inviting and sophisticated.
Another key focus was the celebration of traditional craftsmanship and heritage. Several exhibitors showcased live demonstrations, highlighting the skill and attention to detail behind beautifully made products.
Our Residential Designers, Clare Jenkinson and Calvin Pope, reflected on this emphasis:
"Several of the main exhibitors had people making and demonstrating on the stands too, so the idea of quality and heritage in materials, design and manufacture was prevalent."
Rather than introducing entirely new trends, this year's exhibition reinforced the importance of timeless design and investing in quality materials that stand the test of time.
As Clare and Calvin observed:
"The overall impression was one of reinforcing recent colour and design themes and the importance of good quality rather than novelty, newness or change for its own sake, to chime with the mood of consumers.

At Ulster Carpets, this appreciation for quality, craftsmanship and enduring design reflects our own approach to creating beautiful carpets for the home.
