An Inspired Christmas

AN INSPIRED CHRISTMAS

With the holiday festivities well underway and the hustle and bustle taking over, this time of year can be stressful for many. Therefore it is important to create a calm, cosy and welcoming environment to help us unwind and relax.

Bright lights and colourful decorations will always lift your mood during the dark weeks of winter. The past few years have seen a gradual change in trend, we are increasingly seeing a shift away from gaudy plastic decor to a more rustic handmade approach to decorations and interiors.

We have put together a couple of ideas to help you create a calm and cosy interior theme this Christmas.

Classic Country Chic

Hibernate with rich tones and intense berry hues, think cosy country retreats.

Handmade pieces work perfectly for this trend;  Precious handmade decorations are perfect for hanging on the tree and  provide an authentic festive feel.

Nordic Christmas

Perfect for those who love the minimalist style, Scandinavian interiors are becoming increasingly popular.

To create this winter look, focus on natural materials and bringing the outside in.

Wool and wooden decorations are a perfect addition to add texture and keep a room grounded.

It is easy to get carried away with all the bright and colourful manmade  decorations so strip it back with natural elements to create seamless  integration between the indoors and outdoors. Try using natural foliage and pinecones to replace tinsel and plastic.

Sustainable Christmas

Caring for the environment is at the forefront of people’s minds at the moment and that doesn’t exclude the festive season.

Country Homes Magazine says… “Let’s make this year our most eco-friendly, sustainable Christmas yet. Sustainability consultancy,  Anthesis, says small changes can make all the difference in reducing our environmental footprint during the festive break. Shopping smart, utilising the latest technology and thinking about trace-ability is key.
