Production Design Technicians

Ulster Carpets have opportunities within our Contract Design Department for Production Design Technicians to join our growing team.

As a fully integrated manufacturing company with all our manufacturing carried out in the UK, Ulster’s bespoke carpets which offer a superior degree of design intricacy and enhanced spectrum of colour are found in some of the world’s more prestigious hotels, casino’s and cruise ships.

As a Production Design Technician within Ulster Carpets, your role will be a technical position working collaboratively with our planning and design teams. The position will require you to accurately translate designs into rolls of carpet to meet the expectations of the customer. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in creative design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Adobe), a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn new skills.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential criteria:

• Relevant qualifications or experience
• The ability to grasp technical concepts and techniques within the manufacturing process
• A high level of computer literacy

Desirable criteria:

• Some experience in creative design software e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD (or similar) with a willingness to learn further skills

Main job Responsibilities:

• Process carpet designs for production.
• Liaise with the planning and design teams to ensure the approved drawings and designs are accurately represented in roll format.
• Check for faults and support design to resolve issues.
• Review production dates to prioritise projects.
• Complete production administration in line with production requirements.
• Provide flexibility in supporting other departments as and when required.
