Invest NI has been working with a number of Northern Ireland companies to help them win business with hotels here – from new carpets, to linen and foods. Domotex 2016 took place last month in Hannover, Germany. With 45,000 visitors in attendance from over 100 countries, it is one of the largest carpet and floor covering shows in the world. Ulster Carpets was one of 1,441 exhibitors which came from 59 different countries. In conjunction with Danfloor, who are part of the Ulster Group, we had an impressive stand which showcased all of the products from Ulsters bespoke axminster carpets to Danfloors tufted ranges.
With the show being described as ‘an unrivaled source of momentum for the global floor coverings industry’ (Dr Jocken Kockler, Deutsche Messe Managing Board member in charge of Domotex), we couldn’t miss this opportunity to encourage sales, discover emerging trends and share customers with Danfloor. This year we had a larger stand than previously, allowing more visitors to come and go. We were extremely busy throughout the four days, in particular visitors were very interested in the striking installation shots of our recent projects, especially the Sofitel Dubai. We appreciate that Domotex is a fantastic opportunity to gain new customers and develop relationships with our existing customers, we are already looking forward to Domotex 2017!
Work continued until mid November 2015 to complete the foundations for the new Dyehouse. With 2,700 metres of concrete piling there is 68 tonne of reinforcing steel and 648 cubic metres of concrete poured into the ground beams and ‘holding down’ bolts for the main steel structure.
The erecting of the 176 tonne steel structure has been at a dramatic pace with completion of this in the next few days, following which preparations will start for the pouring of the concrete for the mezzanine floor.
